Pramoda Devi Wadiyar inaugurated the Gemini Circus on 5th October at Horse Park Grounds, near Karanji Lake, with District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, and MLAs Tanveer Sait and T.S. Srivatsa as the special guests.

The Gemini Circus: A Journey of Thrills, Feats, and Entertainment
Founded on August 15, 1951, in Billimoria, Gujarat, Gemini Circus made its grand debut under the visionary leadership of M.V. Shankaran and K. Sahadevan. Over the decades, this iconic circus has captured the hearts of millions, including some of the most prominent leaders of India and the world. Distinguished guests like Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, E.M.S Namboodiripad, and international figures like Martin Luther King, Lady Mountbatten, have witnessed its mesmerizing performances
In 1964, Gemini Circus represented India at the World Circus Festival in Moscow, Sochi, and Yalta, earning international acclaim and recognition from esteemed figures like Alexander Voloshein and cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova. The Indian delegation was even honored with diplomatic visas by the Government of India, marking their troupe as one of the most enchanting in the country. Gemini Circus also had the privilege of receiving expert training from Russian circus professionals, further enhancing the skills of its performers during the 1960s.
The main highlight of the show is the American Space Wheel, a daring and thrilling act that leaves the audience amazed. Unique performances like the double ring, romantic saree balance, and dark light motorcycle globe riding make each show unforgettable.
Led by Anthoni Maxmilian Nchimbi, the African Troupe captivates the audience with their incredible acrobatics. From human pyramids showcasing strength, endurance, and speed to fire dances accompanied by traditional African music, their performances are truly extraordinary.
The pole acrobatics, where performers climb and descend two poles in various styles, add to the excitement. Set to the popular Shakira song, this dazzling act leaves the audience mesmerized.
